Craft First Chapters Contest!

CRAFT First Chapters Contest

CRAFT First Chapters Contest

Submissions are OPEN for the CRAFT First Chapters Contest. We are looking for excerpts of book-length fiction —please submit the first chapter or chapters* of your unpublished novels/novellas, completed or in progress. We welcome all literary fiction—our only requirement is that you show excellence in your craft. We are thrilled to be working with Naomi Huffman, editor and digital director at MCDxFSG and FSG Originals, as the judge of this contest. Ms. Huffman will select a winning story from a group of finalists for the $2000 grand prize, publication on CRAFT, manuscript critique, and agent review.

2nd and 3rd place stories also selected by Ms. Huffman will receive $500 / $300 respectively, agent review, and publication with CRAFT.

If you have any questions, please send an email to contact@craftliterary.com.

The Fine Print: *Your entry may include more than your first chapter, up to 6,000 words total, but should contain complete sections—please do not leave us hanging mid-paragraph just to maximize word count—and must be the first chapter(s) of your book-length project, as if you were querying agents or publishing houses.
