Author of Tomorrow Award - Young Writers short adventure stories for 2019

Do you know the next Author of Tomorrow? We are inviting young writers to submit their short adventure stories for the 2019 Author of Tomorrow award. The award is free to enter and welcomes submissions from writers across the world, writing in English. We accept entries in the following age categories:  11 years and under Requirements: an original adventure story up to 500 words in length Prize:  £100, plus £150 in book tokens for the writer's school, library or charity of choice 12-15 years Requirements: an original adventure story between 1500-5000 words in length Prize: £100, plus £150 in book tokens for the writer's school, library or charity of choice 16-21 years Requirements: an original adventure story between 1500-5000 words in length Prize: £1,000 Ten shortlisted writers will also get to work with an editor and have their short stories digitally published, available across the world on Worldreader's platforms. In July we are inviting Year 6 pupils and their teachers from across the UK to get shipshape and join the crew of the HMS Adventure.  Next week we will be launching a crowdfunding campaign to support the event, inviting friends of the Foundation to help us inspire more young people to engage with independent reading and writing through this adventurous experience. If you are over 21, like reading and are interested in the behind-the-scenes work we do to support young people's literacy, we have just the opportunity for you. We are looking for volunteers to help us provide feedback for the young writers we work with.
