SHOBANA: Shobana Gomes is a Malaysian award-winning author and poet known for her creative works, particularly in poetry and literature. Shobana's writing journey began with keeping diaries in school. At a young age, she was inspired by the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Her dad bought her a set of Encylopedia Britannica which incorporated the tales of Hans Christian Andersen that fuelled her imagination.She read books by Stephen King and the Mill & Boons series were among the favourites on her bookshelves. Later, she delved into the poetry of Robert Frost, Maya Angelou, and read Shakespeare. Her writing delves into nature, love, life, and beauty. Her travels have also played a significant role in shaping her work, providing diverse perspectives and inspiration.
